Bluemix SSO with Liberty: stuck with AuthFailed (CWWKS9104A)

I'm experimenting with Bluemix and trying to add single sign-on to my WebSphere Liberty WebApp. So I followed the guide. A single sign-on service with a cloud-based directory identifier provider has been added, WebApp is bound to it, and the XML configuration has been changed.

I started working with a demo application and adapted it from there.

I created a test user "tobi" in the Cloud Directory, which is associated with my single sign-on service. When I deploy the application, I see that the dependencies / SSO code are compiled / compiled in the application bundle. However, if I try to enter the application, it fails, and I always see the following error:
