Is the document / view architecture in MFC basically a Model / View / Controller template, but without a controller?

Is the document / view architecture in MFC a model model / view / controller without a controller part?

I study MFC and I just love it with bits. I know that it is somewhat outdated and a bit more difficult to use, but I found that it gives me much more power and performance when compared to QT.

Do I think the MFC doc / view model is just MVC without a controller part?
