I am currently using microsoft excel 2010. Trying to insert some PDF files into a spreadsheet.
I entered the tab "Insert tab" → "Object" → select "Adobe Document" (the "Display as icon" checkbox is checked) from the list → Go to the "Create from file" tab → Select a pdf file from my computer (checked display as an icon) → click OK. Then the following error appears in the dialog box: "Unable to insert object."
Other objects (such as other characters and words) and Pictures can be inserted without problems.
I tried the following and nothing helped:
- Reopen Excel spreadsheet
- Delete the MSForms.exd file from any Tempsubfolder in your user profile
- Uninstall all MS Office updates.
- Delete all files with .exd
