Unable to change system variable path in Windows 10 as administrator

Question

I install the Java JDK on a Windows 10 computer that requires registering its path by editing the system variables in the Windows settings, but I tried both the administrator and the regular user, and it does not allow me to add the path, even copy the insert or just add any character . I have no problem with this in Win 8 until I am “tempted” to take advantage of and launch a free update from Microsoft.

Is this a bug in Windows 10? I regularly update my machine, and automatic updates automatically update to get the latest fix from Microsoft. Kaspersky is also temporarily disabled.

How do you change a system variable in a Win 10 machine? I plan to downgrade my machine to windows 7 or 8 if this problem is not fixed.

If you cannot change the system variable in the Path section of Windows 10, try this instead

Login as administrator

go to java folder for example

C:\Program Files\Java\jdk8\bin and copy.

Now in the search box next to the Windows logo below

path 

and choose the one that says

'edit the system environment variables'
