Chrome does not transmit the SVG referenced by the <img> tag - vs embed link

I use Photoshop to export svg, which works fine when used inside the img tag in Firefox, but does not work in Chrome, i.e. nothing appears.

I have exactly the same problem as this question: Chrome does not pass the SVG with the link via the <img> tag and using Adobe Illustrator and opening the .svg file and saving, since embedding really solves the problem.

Thus, the seleed solution also solves my problem, but this requires Adobe Illustrator.

Since I don't need Adobe Illustrator for anything else, I wanted to know if there is an alternative?

Try jsfiddle in Chrome and Firefox and you will see the difference.
