The difference between authorized_keys and id_rsa.pub

I am experimenting with a stroller, and I see that when I start a stroller, the stray box already has a file authorized_keysin~/.ssh/

Inside is the rsa key. What is the difference in this key, and if I create the public key id_rsa.pubmyself, using

ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 4096 -C "[e-mail]"

id_rsa.pubis a public key that you add to files of authorized_keysother hosts so that you can log in as this user. Vagrant has one, so it can be added to files on other hosts authorized_keysso that it can automatically log into the system. The one you created with ssh-keygenis for you, not Vagrant.
