Sh: parse_git_branch: command not found

I have root which is included in osx El Captain. I tried some solution already provided on https://stackoverflow.com/a/169609/ and supersu , but could not fix the error. I exported function parse_git_branch()to .bash_profilefrom .bash_prompt, but I still get this error. I do not know bash scripts, so I have no idea what is happening and what needs to be fixed.
