So far I have used a combination of R + Rstudio + knit (mostly HTML) in English, so that is probably why I have never encountered this problem. Recently, however, I started writing a document in Polish and noted that if I knit in HTML or PDF, the text loses the Polish character. So, in the example, the following sentence:
Warto podkreślić, że zaznaczona na osi wartość...
It is displayed as follows:
Warto podkreslic, ze zaznaczona na osi wartosc...
And - just for your curiosity - in English, this means:
Worth to point out, that the value marked on axis...
This is very troublesome. I checked that the source file is correctly encoded in UTF-8. I checked that all the settings in Rstudio are set to utf-8. After going through the call, I also said that it should work like UTF-8, so I am puzzled by what is wrong.
