I am starting in ORA-01555: snapshots are too old with Oracle 9i, but I am not launching any updates with this application at all.
The error occurs after the application has been connected for several hours without any requests, then each request (which would otherwise be subsecond requests) returned with ORA-01555: the snapshot is too old: rollback segment No. 6 with the name "_SYSSMU6 $ "is too small.
Could this be the reason for the transaction isolation for the TRANSACTION_SERIALIZABLE parameter? Or some other error in the JDBC code? This can be caused by a bug in the jdbc-driver! Go , but everything I read about this error led me to what I believe in scenarios where there is no DML statements are made, it will not happen.
