All sandbox testers created using the iTunes Connect request “Required Billing Information”,

I recently had a problem that I did not seem to have encountered before with my iOS testers for the sandbox and In-App Purchase. I have done the following:

  • Create a new sandbox tester that was not previously used. Assign USA.
  • Log out of all iTunes accounts on your device.
  • Open the app and go to the in-app purchase stream.
  • Log in with your new itunes sandbox account.

This usually works for me. But now I get a hint that says: "Payment information is required - to subscribe, add a new payment method. The fee will be charged only after the trial version is completed. [Environment: Sandbox]."

I saw similar SO questions that mention that they created a sandbox user in the wrong country or previously registered a valid existing account. None of them are applicable in my situation.

Anyone else run into this right now? Any suggestions?

I don't know why the other answers were deleted, but it started working yesterday morning. This was due to the shutdown of Apple. Therefore, if someone finds this answer and follows steps 1-4 above (make sure you do it), wait a day or two and see if it works.
