I am in Oracle 11gR2. In the development environment, I have a DEV3 schema, and I see many additional tables. I am wondering what or who created these tables. If anyone has any ideas please share with me.
Also, what happens if I drop these tables?

MD_CONNECTIONS
MD_CONSTRAINT_DETAILS
MD_CONSTRAINTS
MD_DERIVATIVES
MD_GROUP_MEMBERS
MD_GROUP_PRIVILEGES
There are many other tables starting with MD_.
