SVN commit vs git commit

I know that Git has a local and remote repo (since distribution), but I doubt that there is any difference in fixing SVN and Git commit (given the local Git commit).

According to my understanding of how svnand gitwill support the version of the project for the fixation, not only for maintaining version recorded files, as it does CVS. It's true?

Then, are there any other differences (except that both systems store version information, fixing a local or central repo)?
