What is the maximum length of a resume and description?

In relation to the resume, it is said that

A brief description of the package. If specified, this is displayed in the middle pane of the Add Package dialog box. If not specified, a truncated version of the description is used instead.

Does anyone know the maximum length of the summary, description and how many characters from the description will be used if the summary is not specified?

There is no maximum length for the summary or description. If a resume is not used, the entire description is used.
