Using Traffic Light as RSU in Omnet ++, Veins, and SUMO

Question

I am doing a project to improve bus transit times using 802.11p. I currently have a SUMO model created and simulated, and I am moving on to modeling the network using Omnet ++ and Veins. I have finished the TicToc tutorials to familiarize myself with Omnet ++.

I am wondering how I can use traffic lights in SUMO as Road Side modules in Omnet ++. Do I need to write code in Veins to allow Omnet ++ to “see” traffic lights, as it happens with cars?
