Paypal, what is the difference between future payments and orders

Question

I have an iOS app that allows customers to purchase products, items are available in about a week or 2. I'm trying to figure out which payment method suits my needs.

I read the documentation of the Paypal mobile SDK and Paypal rest api, and I do not understand what is in between:

1.Future Payment - https://developer.paypal.com/docs/integration/mobile/make-future-payment/

2.Size and order - https://developer.paypal.com/docs/integration/direct/create-process-order/

Does the payment, net of money, provide withheld funds?
