Cluster Cluster Mapbox iOS SDK 2

Question

The deprecated SDK version 1 for MapBox iOS has several classes and examples that help create marker clusters. In the new version of the iOS SDK version 2, this functionality somehow disappeared or is not explicitly shown. The closest class, MGLPointAnnotation, seems to have nothing to indicate if the annotation is grouped or not. Does anyone have a similar problem or found a solution / workaround?

There is no support for clustering as early as 2.x: https://github.com/mapbox/mapbox-gl-native/issues/320
