How to check Mandrill custom domain without email client?

Background

I am using Mandrill as sending an SMTP mail server. After setting up MX in my domain DNS, I can send messages through Mandrill.

However, when reading email from a Gmail client, the "on behalf of" line is always displayed. I understand that this signature can be removed by setting DKIM and SPF Settings, and I did this on the Mandrill firewall.

Problem

Here's the funny part: Mandrill requires you to have a “verified domain” by sending you an email to this user domain. However, I did not have a back-end application for receiving Mandrill's “incoming email”. Since there is no other email client provided by Mandrill, how can I check the sending domain?

I had the same problem before. I had a web application running on a server. So I set up my inbox for mandrill by adding some MX records and then creating a route for the same domain for a random address that points to one of the endpoints POSTin my web application.
