How to start the debugger and set breakpoints in Android Studio?

I recently started learning how to use Android studio, and you need to know how to set breakpoints and start the debugger. I clicked on a small button with an insect, but it seemed to open the emulator in the same way as the green play button.

Click in the area between your code and the package explorer (with all directories) to set breakpoints.
