Get text value from xml in soapui groovy script

Question

My task is to get the value from xml in soapui to create the next test in sequence.

I am using groovy script

My goal is to get the text inside the tag. This is easy to understand because it is a base64 encoded string.

If you want to extract the text inside the messageText tag, you can specify the parent node and the child node, i.e. change your last line to

def byteResponse = holder.getNodeValue("//*:operationStatus//*:messageText")

// since there is only one tag named "messageText" in the entire response, you could use this also

def byteResponse = holder.getNodeValue("//*:messageText")
