Protocol Mismatch After Telnet Connection

This is what appears: ssh-2.0-OpenSSH_6.2

I'm not quite sure what that means. This happens when I try to remotely connect to my Mac from another Windows computer using telnet. What does this mean and what am I doing to overcome this? Enter your computer password? I get only one line before she says

"Protocol mismatch.

The connection to the host is lost.

It seems you are connecting to ssh port via telnet. These are different protocols. try

ssh [HOST]

instead

telnet [HOST] 22
