"Installation error: invalid argument" after upgrading to Xcode 7

By agreeing to the Upgrade to Recommended Settings dialog box in Xcode 7, my application will build, but will no longer work on the simulator. The simulator starts correctly, but just sits on the main screen. Meanwhile, Xcode displays an error:

This is because "Upgrade to Recommended Settings" will change info.plist CFBundleIdentifierto indicate $(PRODUCT_BUNDLE_IDENTIFIER)instead of the old one $(BUNDLE_IDENTIFIER).
