How to enable the Visual Studio 2015 "Event Mapping for:" Diagnostic Tool for Category and Stream Filter

I recently installed Visual Studio 2015 and noticed a Diagnostic Tools window that I did not see in previous versions. This window displays events, memory usage and CPU usage. (I used MSDN Pro and was upgraded to enterprise.)

I specifically wanted to try out the events section and launched an existing website to see this part in action. Indeed, many events were recorded, both on the timeline of events and in the list of events. However, the "Event mapping for:" section was disabled - I was not able to filter the huge number of displayed events.

I did some google searches and found a lot of information about diagnostic tools, but I didn’t see anything that I said that the section should be disabled. Later I tried a clean web application (standard MVC, no auth template), and the section was still disabled when the application started. Then I tried the standard C # console application - using only Console.ReadLine (); team. When I ran this, I was able to use the "Show events for" section. I figured it was only for web applications, this part was disabled.

Today I asked a colleague to create a console application similar to my test described above. He launched the application and, to my surprise, he was unable to use the "Display events for" section because it was disabled. -Consistent behavior between my car and him.

Is there a simple parameter that is missing that disables event filtering? Stressing again, events are recorded and placed on the timeline. This is only the filter section that is disabled.

Does anyone have similar problems?

Update - the filter section is also disabled during development (does not start the application). In this case, all events are also deleted.

Update - I just tried the WPF application. I created a new application using C # and immediately launched it. Events are recorded and placed on the event timeline, but the event filter is disabled.
