Say we have a design for our system using akka-persistence. Now we have events stored in the event store. While a new function was requested in the production system. As a result, we find that the best way is to add or change a field in the event. Say by changing the name or type of a field.
We now have two versions of the event, one of which we have, and one in the new deployment, which are incompatible. We will fail if we try to recover data from the old version.
What is the best way to do this other than data transfer?
