Postgres 9.4 hangs while updating a materialized view

Question

I look at issues with materialized views in Postgres 9.4. Sometimes the request “update xxx materialized view” just hangs forever.

The only way I found is to completely restart the postgres service. After rebooting, it takes a few seconds.

My view is not so complicated, it uses about 10 tables.

I performed select * from pg_stat_activity where state = 'active', and the only query being executed was viewing the update.

This issue occurs with the CentOS operating system.

What should I watch when these problems come next time? locks? or something else?
