Secure web interfaces on a hardware device

I have a hardware device that communicates via websockets with a browser. The problem is that I want a secure connection, unfortunately, browsers do not connect to a self-signed certificate. the problem is that each hardware device can have a different IP address, and certificates are limited in domains. I canโ€™t buy a certificate for each equipment .. So what can I do?
