Issues with WPF BackgroundWorker with the progress bar

I am developing a WPF application, C #, and I need to read a very large CSV file and write to the database. This process takes a lot of time, so I want to at least show a progress bar that grows in size as it approaches completion.

Now I have the following code at the top:

private readonly BackgroundWorker worker = new BackgroundWorker();

Then inside the loop I have the following:

worker.WorkerReportsProgress = true;
worker.ReportProgress((100 * i) / 10000);

and I have a private submission like this:

    prgBar.Value = Math.Min(e.ProgressPercentage, 100);
}

However, I do not see the progress bar update or anything else, the program is still hanging. Am I doing something wrong?
