Inherited or local MIME type

Question

I am trying to add a MIME type. After adding it, the browser does not recognize the type. When I compare it with a demo that works, the only difference that I see is that in the demo version the record type is inherited, and the one I create is local. Can anyone explain the difference (I could not find anything about this on google). How to create an inherited MIME type? (this was just created on the demo, but on the beta site it is created as Local!?!) BTW, both on the demo and on the beta site, this is version 6.1.

You can specify MIME types at different levels.
