Why are radio buttons called "radio"?

Question

I was thinking about my first contact with the html language, and I remembered when I was looking for this particular button with a dot. It gives you several options, and you can choose only one of them. I found out that this is called a radio button. I had no idea how the word “radio” was related to something like that, and I think it's time to solve this mystery.

So my question is ... why is it called a radio button ?
This question may not have a specific purpose, but I'm still interested.

A radio button or a selection button is a type of graphical widget for the user interface that allows the user to select one of the predefined parameter sets. They were named after the physical buttons used on car radios to select preset stations — when one of the buttons was pressed, the other buttons would appear, leaving the button pressed the only button in the “pressed” position.

The Microsoft Buttons section on Microsoft also says:

Radio books are called so because they function as channel presets on the radio.

Reply from wikipedia: the radio buttons were named after the physical buttons used on old radios to select preset stations 1 [2] - when one of the buttons is pressed, the other buttons are pushed, leaving the button pressed with the only button in the “pressed position” position .
