I like adaptive-wrap-prefix-modethat it makes soft carrying whenever you overcome the width of the window, beautifully formatting the text in the next line with an unreal ("soft") indent.

But there is one problem with this. Whenever this happens, emacs draws a “new line” character on either side of its vertical line, and these characters really draw my attention to these lines, defeating the whole purpose of adaptive wrapping (so as not to disturb the visual indentation of the code by long lines).) .
