How to get trace output from PPAPI Flash Player content debugger

I am using Chrome 39.0.2171.95 on Windows 8. I have run Adobe uninstall_flash_player.exe. I installed the PPAPI Flash Player content debugger announced in this Adobe blog post.

When I go to chrome: // plugins and expand the details with a link in the upper right corner, I see that the built-in PepperFlash player still exists, but is disabled. Plugin one:

Location:   C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\pepflashplayer32_16_0_0_235.dll
Type:   PPAPI (out-of-process)

switched on. So far so good.

Based on the information I gathered from this post on the Adobe forum , I copied the mm.cfg file to:

% USERPROFILE% / AppData / Local / Google / Chrome / User Data / Default Data / List / Shock Wave Flash / System

(I had to create a system directory.)

The mm.cfg file contains:

TraceOutputFileEnable=1
ErrorReportingEnable=1
AS3Verbose=0
TraceOutputBuffered=1
AS3Trace=0

I assume that the log file that this flash player writes does not match the file written by the NPAPI player, because Chrome greatly restricts access to the file system. In any case, nothing is written to the flashlog.txt file used by the NPAPI plugin. I also can't find anything like the log file below

% USERPROFILE% / AppData / Local / Google / Chrome / User Data / Default Data / Perch / Pulse Wave

And I can not find anything like the meaningful documentation from Adobe.

Has anyone successfully done what I'm trying to do?
