Warning box “not showing” in Chrome-Off Screen?

I'm not quite sure what is going on here. I use the latest Google Chrome, and recently Alert Box popups are not showing. They are THERE because I need to press enter / esc in order to use my browser again. This is for all warning boxes in the browser. I tried plugging in an HDMI cable to see if it was really turned off, and maybe I could see it if I had expanded the monitor, but to no avail.

I saw that in 2012 there was an error that was similar to this, but it was obviously fixed and should not be relevant here.

EDIT: Version 39.0.2171.95

Suppose your dialogue is really off, press [alt] [space] [m]. Then rotate the mouse or press the arrow keys like hell, and your dialog box will eventually fall into the scope. See Also http://www.dpreview.com/forums/post/42206189

I had a similar problem. After much testing, I was able to fix this with the following tools.

  • Settings> Show advanced options
  • Scroll down
  • Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration if available"
