A WebView running in an emulator in Android Studio cannot access the Internet, but can Chrome?

Question

I installed Android studio 1.0.1 and followed this page https://developer.chrome.com/multidevice/webview/gettingstarted to wrap the site in the application.

However, when I started in the emulator, I received the following error.

Web-page is unavailable

The webpage at https: // ..... cannot be loaded because:

Net :: ERR_NAME_NOT_RESOLVED

However, I tried to click the link and launched the website in Chrome without any problems.
