Pandas indexing a data frame using loc

I have a FIZZ-BUZZ problem. I have a calendar with weekdays. In the next column, I put "FIZZ" on specific lines. If there is an empty space between the two “FIZZs”, I put “BUZZ” between them, except that on the weekday “SUN”. See the code below (I am using pandas version 0.15.2):

df.loc[idx_lst, 'A'] = 'FIZZ'
previous_idx = idx_lst[0]

Check line 4, there should be SUN in column A instead of BUZZ. Also note that if idx-1 is not in idx_lst, then .loc [idx-1] gives a timestamp. if I use .ix instead of .loc, I get the correct answer:
