How can I get data from several web services at the same time using PHP?

Question

I have 3 web services that provide me with data for my hotel reservation system. It takes too long if I run them sequentially. So I wanted to run them using threads. But not sure if php support will support this if it is safe (since all 3 processes that will process the web service will read and write to shared tables)

Can someone advise me how I should act?

I usually use the following function to send Simultaneuos HTTP requests to web services.
