Failed to override django-allauth templates

Question

I am trying to override django-allauth default templates. I copied the templates from the allauth folder in my package sites to the application template directory.

The structure is as follows

myapp
--templates
----account
----admin
----socialaccount
----www
----base.html

My .py settings have TEMPLATE_DIRS set

TEMPLATE_DIRS = (
    os.path.join(BASE_DIR, "templates"),
)

Like this answer I download my application before allauth.

Making any changes to the templates in my directory has no effect, however changing the templates in allauth templates in the site packages leads to changes. I know that some very simple thing is missing here, but I don’t seem to understand it.
