Embedding youtube causes continuous get_screen_availability requests in the network panel

reproducible:

• go to http://jsbin.com/bules/1/
• open console
• Go to the network panel.
• see many requests almost every 3 seconds from youtube

With an open console in chrome, it causes a memory leak after an hour or so.

Can someone explain why this is happening and why this challenge is so common?

This is caused by player polling. It checks if my connected smart TV is turned on or not. Thus, it can hide / show the remote screen button on the player.
