How to sort MergeCursor?

The challenge is to combine data from two different tables with similar columns sorted by one column. It seems that MergeCursor can help, but has no idea how to sort the elements.

The only solutions I see now are manually converting to ArrayAdapter or hidden JOINs (not sure if this is possible)
