Is Microsoft.Owin.Security.ActiveDirectory to create Owin middleware using AD?

I try to understand the purpose Microsoft.Owin.Security.ActiveDirectoryand cannot find any documentation, tests or even a lot of articles in the way.

What is this package for? I tried to use it to create an intermediate layer that authenticates against the active directory and simply can’t trace what parameters they UseActiveDirectoryFederationServicesBearerAuthenticationreally do, and how to use them to point to my own AD server.

What happens with this package?
