Launch Google Chrome app from url

I am trying to launch a Google Chrome application using a url, I tried the following:

chrome-extension://gfkmokjholoinfcnlolbjfaokmoegeoh/

But this did not work as I get:

chrome-extension://invalid/

Any suggestions?

Use the full path if you know.

You must specify the resources that you are accessing in web_accessible_resources in the manifest.
