Valarray and Custom Distributor

Question

Why std::valarraydoesn't it support custom allocators? How is memory management designed? Is the base used newor the dispenser based on malloc? All other containers usually provide the ability to specify a custom dispenser. Say, std::vectorin libstdc++have the corresponding template parameter Allocator, and I can specify __gnu_cxx::__mt_allocas a dispenser.
