Compass Integration in Visual Studio 2013 2 Update with Web Essentials 2013

As I configured it, I downloaded Compass from https://github.com/Compass/compass

Placed it in the root where all my SCSS files are located. It works great, but I was wondering if their way is to integrate Compass, as they do with the Mindscape Workbench http://visualstudiogallery.msdn.microsoft.com/2b96d16a-c986-4501-8f97-8008f9db141a

I only use mixes from Compass, but rely on Web Essentials to compile SCSS files when saving. This gives me a much better development experience, since compass watchit takes a few seconds to compile the stylesheet, while Web Essentials are very fast. Since compass watchI often have problems with the fact that I rebooted my page in the browser before the CSS files are fully compiled, sometimes confused me.

Since Compass SCSS files are actually the library I rely on, I also copied them to my source tree to have them in the Git repository. This also solved the problem that Web Essentials was unable to resolve the Compass files.

, , Mindscape Workbench. , Mindscape Workbench, . YMMV.
