Unknown Icon in LabVIEW

I came across a manual for a product that I use with LabVIEW, and it has some symbols and structures that I have not seen before. They were highlighted in the attached image as 1. and 2.

These are common features included in the core LabVIEW. If you have LabVIEW installed, select Help> Show Contextual Help, which will contain a small window with information about the materials under your cursor.
