Can you remove the basic sakai tools that you don't need / need?

Something I’ve recently been interested in, is it really possible to “remove” the main tools from sakai vanilla without a lot of effort (editing configuration file downloads)?

I know about hiding tools ( https://confluence.sakaiproject.org/display/DOC/Provisional+Tools ), and I think there is a way to "disable" (or is it just hiding?), But just to eliminate potential problems and reduce the load on the service memory + start-up time, it would be nice if there was a supported tool "do not have the XY or Z tool in the service."

I never tried just deleting the jars to understand what was going on, but I suspect that this might not be a good idea and probably need to be compiled using the tools deployed in the webapp directory, which I think means changing the whole load maven files to run "mvn clean install sakai: deploy", which will be easier.
