How to make responsive text not too big or too small

Question

I am new to web design. I have a decent understanding of CSS / HTML, but I don’t agree on how to style fonts for mobile devices.

I am currently using px so that my fonts are larger or smaller on my web pages. However, this will make my fonts very small on tall pixel / inch devices.

How can I make my fonts crisp on these high resolution screens without making them look very small?

For instance:

font-size:12px;
}

- this is what I'm used to using. It looks good on my laptop, but I have no idea how it looks on tablets, because I don't have one D:
