Registering a custom component in the Ember CLI

Question

I would like to use the ic-tabs component in my Ember CLI application. It turns out ic-tabs are not exported with a name that resolves automatically in the Ember CLI (so I can't just use {{ic-tabs}} in my application).

How can I use an initializer to register components in my application?
