As you can see, I made a 9-slice in the top image and a 3-slice in the bottom. And yet, Xcode does not allow me to abandon this. My option seems to delete and then re-add the image. But is there a way to re-specify slicing inside Xcode?
In cut mode, select the image you want to use reset (click on its name) and open the attribute inspector in the right side panel (⌥⌘4). In the "Cutting" section, you can change the cutting parameters and even turn it off.
