Remove CouchDB Completely Mac OSX

I played with my couchdb configuration, and I would like to start a new job again, uninstall the application and download a new one, it seems that I didn’t completely delete the configuration, where I still need to access with my username and password, and my dbs still exist.

Looking around the internet, I didn't seem to find a solution to fix the problem on mac os x (mavericks)

Well, I did a few things like:

  • delete cache folder from ~/Library/Caches
  • delete any linked file / folder in ~/Library/Application Support/CouchDB
  • checking the configuration file from ~/Library/Preferences/couchdb-server.iniappears to be an alias for the configuration file in the Application SupportCouchDB folder
  • I also deleted several files that I do not remember their names.

Still installing the new boot couchdb does not work, and now I get the json message: {"error": "unauthorized", "reason": "The username or password is incorrect." }

PS: My Mac OS X Mavericks and Couchdb 1.5.1 system

Well, it looks like I found the missing file very soon after I posted my question, so for those who will get this problem in the future, this is the identity file:

/Users/kouiti/Library/Preferences/org.apache.couchdb.plist
