How can I stop Adobe Reader from asking "Save As" when I save the form in PDF format (i.e. Allow just "Save")?

Does anyone know how to call Adobe Reader from the command line to open a pre-filled Adobe form (with extensions enabled), for example MRBIGSORDER0001.PDF, allow the user to change it, and then save and exit?

Currently, when a completed form is opened for updating, pressing the "Save" or "Save" button on the toolbar offers the user "Save As", which leads to the creation of several versions.

These issues seem to be related to the new Security / Sandbox settings from Adobe Reader X onwards.

It is not clear how to stop this from happening at a subtle “level”, but proceed to the following:

Edit → Settings → Security (advanced)

Disabling "[] Enable protected mode at startup" certianly stops this odd behavior cold.

I’m studying the Priority Locations settings to see if I can configure this setting.

If you want end users to be able to save a document that has been filled out, you need Reader-enable in the form.
