I want to create a real-time emotion recognition program using LBP and SVM. After the face detection process, I converted the captured image into a grayscale image of 32x32 pixels. I'm struggling to create and display a histogram for my LBP (I use a simple, uninterpreted LBP). What I got so far shows real-time LBP images in real time.

How do we determine the number m of local regions?
I am trying to find the answers
here and here , but I could not figure it out. I have seen work here related to the spatial histogram, and I'm still confused. Can someone please teach me step by step (yes, I'm a newbie: /). I really need to calculate and display a histogram, as shown on page 14 here .
