Noise and echo in QuickBlox VideoChat example

I installed a sample video chat ( http://quickblox.com/developers/Sample-videochat-android ) on my Android smartphones and it runs fine. But after clicking on "Audio Call" or "Video Call", I get a lot of noise and echo depending on the delay of the audio / video. Why is this so?
